TD Bank to leverage AI to deliver personalized advice with its app

“One of the features that is currently being tested is an AI-powered balance predictor tool that would notify customers when they have upcoming bills, and then offer proactive tailored advice. “It uses intelligence to determine that the customer has an upcoming payment,” Imran Khan, the vice-president of digital customer experience at TD, told MobileSyrup.”

IBM: AI will change every job and increase demand for creative skills

  • “A report released this week by the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab called “The Future of Work: How New Technologies Are Transforming Tasks.”
  • The researchers used machine learning to analyze 170 million U.S. job postings between 2010 and 2017. They found that out of 18,500 possible tasks employees might be asked to do on average, the number had fallen by 3.7 over seven years.
  • A drop, though hardly radical. These disappearing tasks are being taken up by AI or machine learning systems that have demonstrated the efficiencies of automation, the report says.

These 4 Hours on Cyber Monday Could Be Worth More Than $3 Billion to Businesses

  • “Cyber Monday is expected to pull in $9.4 billion this year, a $1.5 billion increase from last year’s online sales tally for the Monday after Thanksgiving. The real detail retailers need to know? Thirty percent of all sales made this Cyber Monday, which falls on December 2, will likely will be made in the specific four-hour window of 7 to 11 p.m. Pacific time.
  • Besides the uptick in sales on Cyber Monday itself, Adobe projects Thanksgiving will bring in $4.4 billion in online spending and Black Friday will drive another $7.5 billion. The five-day period between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday will generate about $29 billion in online sales, or about 20 percent of total holiday season revenue online, according to the report.”

Artificial Intelligence vs. Machine Learning vs. Deep Learning

“Deep Learning, on the other hand, is a very young field of Artificial Intelligence that is powered by artificial neural networks.

It can be viewed again as a subfield of Machine Learning since Deep Learning algorithms also require data in order to learn to solve tasks. Although methods of Deep Learning are able to perform the same tasks as classic Machine Learning algorithms, it is not the other way round.

Artificial neural networks have unique capabilities that enable Deep Learning models to solve tasks that Machine Learning models could never solve”
